Rotor Wing Operations is an element of the Air Command that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Blaine County Sheriff's Department helicopter fleet. Deputies are trained to operate these aircraft in a safe manner. A variety of checks are conducted on our aircraft prior to flight to ensure the safety of all. Our rotorcraft are particularly useful due to their distinct maneuverability, speed and various capabilities such as the Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera and the ability to conduct search and rescue operations.
